Health Reimbursement Account - HRA

The Health Reimbursement Account is for employees on the HDHP that will be 65 years or older during the plan year.

If you will be 65 anytime during the plan year, you will be auto-enrolled in the HRA. The HRA is administered by Health Equity.

How does the HRA work?

  • Employer only contributions
    • Single medical plan $46.16 per pay
    • Family medical plan $92.32 per pay
  • Employee cannot contribute per IRS
  • Employees will receive a debit card to access their funds
  • Documentation must be provided to substantiate spend
  • Funds roll over year after year. There is no use it or lose it.

Medicare

If you will be 65 years or older and eligible for Archdiocesan insurance, you have several options:

  1. You may decline Archdiocesan insurance and elect Medicare Parts A and B.
    1. You can still elect Archdiocesan dental with Archdiocesan Medical.
  2. You may enroll in Archdiocesan insurance and decline all Medicare.
  3. You may enroll in Archdiocesan insurance elect Part A and/or Part B.
    1. Archdiocesan insurance would be primary
    2. Medicare would be secondary. Part B does include a premium so you should weight the costs associated with this option.
  4. You can seek coverage outside of the Archdiocesan or Medicare plans.
