Business Manager

Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church & School is seeking a Full-Time Business Manager. The work schedule is Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 5:30.  
The Business Manager is responsible for the accounting functions of the parish and school, as well as supervising the Facilities Manager, parish administrative personnel and volunteers.  This position reports to the Pastor.

Responsibilities:

The Business Manager will provide leadership and support in the following areas:

Business of the Parish

  • Oversee and facilitate the accounting, human resources, facilities maintenance and technology functions of the parish and school
  • Maintain compliance with the Indiana Gaming commission, including permits and financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with the archdiocesan safe environment training and background check requirements for the staff and volunteers

  Accounting

  • Review vendor bills and prepare payments utilizing the computerized accounting system
  • Reconcile 3 bank accounts monthly
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and distribute to the finance council
  • Manage the payroll process by having a thorough knowledge of the payroll system
  • Prepare annual budgets in collaboration with the school principal and other departments
  • Oversee the financial process for parish-wide events conducted throughout the year
  • Oversee tracking of parishioner giving and the preparation of annual giving statements

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel.
  • Proficiency with basic office equipment.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems including report generation and customization
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and able to use discretion
  • Ability to organize, manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Enthusiasm for the Catholic Church and the mission of Holy Name of Jesus

Education, Training and Experience

  • BA/BS in accounting or business or 5 years of experience handling many of the responsibilities described above
  • Experience in the Archdiocese is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to have background check successfully completed and approved by Archdiocese
